COUNT BASIC is an Austrian band formed in1993 around guitarist Peter Legat. The band’s name is a tribute to American jazz musician Count Basie. Originally part of the acid jazz scene, her musical style evolved indifferent directions – smooth jazz, R’n’B and trip-hop. Peter Legat has pursued his musical path uncompromisingly over the past 20 years and has travelled the world with his 11-piece ensemble. Always committed to quality rather than quantity, the band has built up a loyal fanbase and is one of the best live bands in the world in this genre.
