ABOUT JOSH DION:
In 2004, he launched the Josh Dion Band, a 5 piece epic roots rock ensemble, in which he discovered his voice as a frontman and drummer, in collaboration with guitarist Dan Hindman. The band would release 3 albums over the course of 5 years. They would develop a solid local following, selling out Nyc rooms such as Bowery Ballroom and Highline Ballroom, while keeping a residency at the famous Bitter End, and completing multiple successful tours in Spain, including Womad Festival. The group would disband in 2009.

Dion's next original endeavor would be a collaboration with bassist/ producer Geoff Kraly, called paris_monster. The duo would feature Dion on drums, vocals and synth bass. Kraly contributed a unique approach to bass playing, using pedals to create soundscapes and feedback, while manning a modular synth. The sound is gritty, funky, sometimes dark, experimental and lyrically dense. In 2013, they released their first EP, "it once had been kind". They have released a handful of singles since then.
In 2015, paris_monster received a nod from drummer Questlove, who acknowledged Dion's keyboard/ drumming skills as "drums with one hand, music with the other."  P_m has garnered an underground following, and are currently active and recording a full length album due to come out in 2017.

Over the course of the last decade, Dion has worked with an eclectic list of artists  including ulu, Chuck Loeb, Randy Brecker, Bill Evans, Warren Haynes, Jeff Golub, Edgar Winter, Greg Allman, Bob James, Ivan Lins, Candy Dulfer, Marshall Crenshaw, Diane Birch, Norah Jones, Wayne Krantz, Nels Cline, Trixie Whitley, John Medeski, Jim Weider, Tony Scherr, Zach Danziger and DJ Logic.  He is currently a member of the Jim Campilongo Trio, playing every Monday at Rockwood Music Hall in the lower east side of Manhattan.
